Watch Upcoming Board Meetings Online [updated 11/5/20]

The next regular Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020. The next Investment Meeting of the Teachers' Retirement Board will be on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Normally, meetings are streamed live on TRS' website and are available for on-demand viewing within two business days.

Make a Video Appointment with a Member Services Representative! [updated 10/29/20]

If you would like to meet with a TRS Member Services Representative one on one, please schedule a video conference. Appointments for a 30-minute video call are available during TRS business hours and are conducted via Zoom.

Fall 2020 Newsletters Now Available [posted 10/22/20]

The Fall 2020 issues of our member newsletters are now available online. The mailing of Benefits Report to retirees and In-Service News to non-retired members is underway. On the Newsletters page, you can view the most recent issues or choose an issue from our archives dating back to 2015.

Monthly Account Update Available [posted 10/21/20]

Account information as of September 30, 2020 is now available in the secure section of our website.

In-service members can log in to see their latest account balances, plus loan information and investment elections. Retirees with a TDA account can view their latest TDA account balances, plus investment elections, loans, and RMD information.

October 2020 Unit Values Available [posted 10/15/20]

The October unit values for the variable-return Passport Funds are now available. Unit values are based on each portfolio's closing market value as of the end of the preceding month.

Review Your 2020 Annual Benefits Statement [posted 10/8/20]

Annual Benefits Statements for 2020 are now available for members who are in active service or on leave. Members can view their statements in the secure area of our website, and a video shows how to access the statement online.

Changing TDA Rate Before Rescheduled UFT Payment [posted 10/14/20]

TRS has been informed that, after arbitration, half of the City's lump-sum payment to UFT members will be paid on October 30. The full payment was originally scheduled for October 15. Members who want to change their TDA contribution rate to coincide with the lump-sum payment must do so before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17 in the secure section of our website. On October 18, members may log in again to change their TDA contribution rate to their "regular" rate.

Fall Online Educational Programs Available [updated 10/2/20]

During the summer, over 1,000 members registered for TRS' online educational programs, and we’re looking for more online learners in the new school year. We have an updated schedule of programs, both for newer members and those closer to retirement. Review the program descriptions and register on the Educational Programs page today!

Updated Publication for New Members Is Available [posted 9/30/20]

New members can get an overview of their benefits at a glance with our Your TRS Benefits in Brief, now updated for the 2020-21 school year. An updated version for Tier III/IV members is also available.

Reminder of Filing Deadline for World Trade Center Law [updated 8/13/19]

Qualifying members who worked in the World Trade Center Rescue, Recovery, or Cleanup Operations between September 11, 2001 and September 12, 2002 may file a Notice of Participation (code DI40) with TRS. Beneficiaries of qualifying members who died without having filed this form may file the beneficiary version of the Notice of Participation (code DI40b). TRS must receive the Notice of Participation and, if applicable, an Authorization for Release of Health-Related Information (code DI47) by September 11, 2022.
